Massage therapy treatment will help you get your muscle and fascia moving to reduce pain or discomfort, reduce tension, improve circulation, and promote relaxation and well being. There are several different touches and techniques that will be used to achieve the results you need.
Therapeutic or Swedish massage is the most widely known type of massage. Pressure and techniques focus on the more superficial layers of muscle and tissues to relax muscle tension and improve circulation. A perfect approach for when you want to destress from the business of life. Also, the approach in the early days after an injury.
Deep Tissues massage uses a heavier pressure and longer strokes that reaches deeper into muscles and connective tissue of the body. This approach is ideal for long standing muscle pain or tightness, or in the healing phase of injuries such as whiplash, sports strains or after a fall. This is a more intense massage where you guide the pressure. It can leave a lingering feeling that lasts for 24-48 hours after but should not cause an increase in pain.
Pregnancy and Postpartum Massage the body goes through a lot of adaptations during and after pregnancy, especially the fascia and muscles that support the changes. The pressure is often softer and will decrease body aches, relieve muscle tension, reduce stress, and may improve sleep.
